Hi there! I am looking for someone who could adapt this program to work in the same way but with pan flute.

The program doesn't need adapting.
Just point it at your MIDI device and choose the instrument of your choice.

The pan flute is the 76th instrument in the General MIDI sound set.
Hi,

Thanks for your post, Carlos. I don't think Eddie and Clemens have understood your request.

Carlos' use case is not about the pan flute sound, but about replacing the piano keyboard visual metaphor in VMPK by another user interface based on his current project, called "Antarita", which is a colorized and modular pan flute for schools and children. :)

I am very sorry because I don't have time to spend on more projects right now, so I will not be able to do this myself. But I agree that VMPK may be a good starting point for his endeavor. Sometimes people asks me what kind of game is this program, and my answer is usually that it is not a game, but a toy. It is a well observed fact that kids enjoy a lot playing with it, and perhaps some of them learn a thing or two about MIDI and music in the process. I am glad about that, and also glad that people build other things with it, leveraging its open source license.

Regards,
Pedro
