Is there some kind of standardized way to have a MIDI controller output the current values for all controls? as in if I load some software, I don't want all the virtual sliders to be set to 0 when the physical controller might have some set to other values.

For reference I am using the Launch Control XL from Novation & writing an openFrameworks app.
