Dear colleagues,

I'm collecting a database of ID Request SysEx responses from MIDI instruments.
I would really appreciate your help if you can provide information about the instruments that are not yet there.

Ideally, I'd prefer to get the information directly from MIDI instrument manufacturers if there are any reading this forum.
But even if you have a single instrument not yet listed in the database, you can be very helpful.

Please check https://github.com/jazz-soft/JZZ-midi-Gear for more details.

Thank you in advance!

Hey could you tell me a bit more about your project and why you are doing this? What are your plans for this information? Will this database be available for all to use?

Regards
Andrew

The data is free for everybody to use and is available at the link above.
It may be useful in the online applications that can enable special features if certain instruments are connected to the computer.

I can't get the browser plugin to work here (I'm on a Mac) but here's the results of a Sysex Device ID request from a Casio VZ-8M if you need it?

Hi Phil,
I have just noticed your reply... Thank you for the info! Which browser are you using?

It looks like the Casio_VZ8M_Device_ID.syx file does not contain ID Response SysEx
- it should begin with f0 7e xx 06 02 ..., but instead, it begins with f0 44 03 ... - some kind of Casio-specific message.
