I like the old ADAT hardware so i bought some early ADAT soundcards, and digital ADAT mixers/audiocard control surfaces that i like to remote via virtual surfaces computer i program javascript so it is not that demanding learning curve implement things.
I have one Korg 168RC and it is no problem for me to find out how to steer/control it, because if you push a button move a slider or select a function it basicly echo the midivalues over midi port for the functionality. I have started upon an interface and i am pretty sure i can make at least part of the functionality to work.
Howver recently i bought a mixer control surface tascam FW1884, it also have a midi Hub 8 ports 4 in 4 out. i hooked up same USB midicable that i used with the RC168 and have tried a few control modes, but i can not see it send anything out over the midiport, do anyone know if the unit can echo out midi as you push buttons, knobs and sliders?
Or do anyone have a sheet over midicommands one can send to it to reach different functionality, it could be so simple that it is only a control surface out and can not be controlled the other way via software "only RC out no in?
It will be two way functionality at least with the Korg 168 RC, so the mixer sets the virtual sliders as well as the virtual sliders setting the mixer settings.
But if anyone have an idea for howto start program the FW1884 "midi message structure" or schematic alternatively howto make it echo out values from knobs sliders and buttons, i would be happy if you shared it.
After installation there is also 8 firewire "midi" ports added 4 in/out plus a fw control port in/out and two VP ports in out "virtual ports??".
I can see at anything going on at these ports when pushing buttons, knobs and sliders.
