Hello,

I've known of MIDI for a couple of decades, but now am trying my hand at utilizing it.

I have a Nektar Impact GX61, which I understand is using MIDI via USB. I am running Presonus Studio One 5. I have recently picked up a Waldorf Kyra. I have yet to control the Kyra to explore it's sounds. The Impact and the Kyra both have USB 2.0 type B (unless I am mistaken.)

I'm assuming I have to specify the channels within Studio One and on the Kyra for being able to control the Kyra with the Impact. I'm extremely appreciative to any insight and help.

Thank you,

PC

I'm not familiar with Studio One, but I am guessing you should be able to configure the MIDI input and output devices on each MIDI track.
By default, all incoming MIDI messages are usually routed to the current track's MIDI output device. That way you can use one input device to control any output device, depending on which track is current in your DAW/sequencer.

Thank you for the prompt response. I will mess around with that tonight.
