I have a Tascam 32 track digital recorder. I also have a Yamaha motif xf.
Unfortunately the recorder has no MIDI in and out ports. Is there anyway to slave keyboard to recorder without the use of a computer. Is there any interfaces that would allow them to talk to each other

Well, I see no direct outputs in the TASCAM units, but I guess you could use an aux send for FSK syncing. All you have to do is to record a special sync audio signal generated by a special machine in one of the tracks and then output this signal through a FSK-to-MIDI converter like the one from Philip Rees in order to get either MIDI Time Code or SPP/Timing clock MIDI sync for your keyboard. Ah, the "special machine" can be this unit as well.

Yes it is a Tascam 32sd.
Is the Tascam unit you have a Tascam DP-32SD 32-Track Digital Portastudio Recorder ?
It didn't look like there was any connectors to sync to external gear and even the USB was for file transfer only.
